As a former Love Home Swap member, you are probably familiar with Points Trips. You would spend Swap Points when you stayed in someone’s home without hosting them in your own home.
Similarities between Love Home Swap and HomeExchange
HomeExchange has a similar Points system. HomeExchange has two types of exchanges:
- reciprocal (which can be done without GuestPoints)
- and non-reciprocal (that are done exclusively with GuestPoints).
If you stay at another member’s home without them coming to yours, you use GuestPoints. On the other hand, when you host someone at your home with travelling to theirs, you receive GuestPoints.
Homes’ GuestPoints value
As you search through homes on the website, you will see each home has been assigned a nightly GuestPoints value. This value is determined by various factors, such as the home’s location, its amenities and the number of people it can sleep. For more information on how the GuestPoints value is calculated, you can refer to this article.
It is important to ensure that you have fully completed your home listing - and that you have provided details about your amenities and the sleeping arrangements offered - as this all contributes to your home’s GuestPoints value. You are able to amend your home’s GuestPoints value should you wish. You can increase it by up to 30 GPs.
Good to know
When finalizing an exchange through GuestPoints, there are no additional fees. It is included with your new HomeExchange membership.
To help you find your first exchange with HomeExchange, you will receive bonus GuestPoints for completing your home listing and your profile, and for verifying your account.
