The Home Exchange is an exchange of graceful hospitality. Your hosts open their doors and greet you graciously as they welcome their families or friends. A relationship of trust is created between guest and host in each exchange. To make exchanging great, there are some basic principles to keep in mind.
Your hosts welcome you in the same manner you welcome your exchange partners: offering you heating, air conditioning, water, electricity, with towels and clean sheets for all.
In return, each guest must respect the house as if it was his own. The guest must make the house as clean as it was on arrival!
More and more, the guests leave little gestures when leaving. A word of thanks, a small gesture, it does not cost anything, but it does make coming home for host more special.
If something went wrong during your stay say it, talk to your exchange partner.
In special cases, when it is a house or a secondary apartment, the host is absent, or the accommodation is in a residence, the host can request additional fees. These must be reasonable and above all, must be mentioned BEFORE the finalisation of the exchange. You are left free to organise with your host / guest for their payment.
Some cities require that guests recover taxes. These taxes are rare, and are not requested everywhere. Inquire before accepting!
